I would not be exaggerating if I told you that the success of your business/professional life is highly dependent on the quality of your connections. The right connections can open the right doors at the right time. And if you are able to make these connections while you are on the move, on your mobile phone, then it would be an added bonus, right? This is where Mobile Apps from LinkedIn can play a key role.
In the last few months, LinkedIn has reworked and polished its mobile applications – they have redesigned their apps, retired some and released some new ones. Right now, according to their official page, LinkedIn has 10 different mobile apps under its umbrella. 4 of them are premium apps available exclusively for the members of its paid services like Sales Navigator, Recruiter, Lynda.com and Elevate. The other 6 apps are available for anyone with a free LinkedIn account. Let us look at 7 of these apps that you could use to improve your business and career right away.
7 Mobile Apps from LinkedIn that can help you Succeed at Work and Business
1. LinkedIn Official App:
This is the most important app and a must-have for any LinkedIn user. Most of you probably have it already and use it regularly. But if you do not, I highly recommend that you download it immediately. With this app, you can pretty much take every action that you would take on the web version of LinkedIn. The company revamped this app and released a new version in Dec 2015 with a fresh UI for the newsfeed, messaging and search functionalities.

2. LinkedIn Job Search App
The Job Search app is one of my favorites in terms of simplicity and design. The advanced search functionality is pretty cool. It allows you to filter and look for jobs that are recent or most relevant. You also look for jobs that are closest to your preferred location using the slider that allows you to search for jobs within a specific radius. You can also filter based on experience, job function, industry, etc. You can choose the ‘alert’ button to get notifications on specific types of jobs.

3. LinkedIn SlideShare App
SlideShare is a powerful platform which gets more than 60 million visits per month where 70% of the visits come from direct search. It owes its popularity to the visual element in the slides. It is one of the quickest ways to learn any new concept. So if you are looking to learn, download this app now. And if you are a business owner, you should plan to have SlideShare in your list of marketing channels and focus on creating useful content for the channel. The mobile app is well designed and with over 18 million presentations, you can get inspiration and knowledge on almost any topic for your business.

4. Lynda.com App
In April 2015, LinkedIn acquired Lynda.com. For a monthly membership fee, Lynda.com offers online courses on business, IT, technical, marketing and many other topics. The mobile app helps you browse through course list without signing (click the explore option in the opening screen). Learning should be on top of the agenda for any successful working professional or business owner, and learning on the go using your mobile only makes it more convenient. So make sure you check out this app.

5. LinkedIn Lookup App
Lookup is a unique app for employees in large organisations who wish to find and connect with other coworkers within their company. This is particularly helpful when you have a specific project for which you need help. With this app, you can search for a coworker with a specific skillset/background and connect with them. You may not have been aware of them before, but with this app, you can read about their profile and background before asking them for help.

6. LinkedIn Pulse App
Pulse is a popular app among regular LinkedIn users. It is a news app that delivers breaking news in business, industry news and popular updates from your network (and even your extended network). The mobile app has a well-designed user interface and makes it easy for you to catch up with the news. You can swipe left to remove an article and the system learns from your behaviour and tunes to the type of news that appears in the feed. You can also save articles by swiping right and read them later.

7. Linkedin Groups App
LinkedIn made many changes to the functionality of the groups app recently. The mobile app makes it easy for you to stay on top of the groups’ news by giving you highlights of the most important updates from your groups, allowing you to search for and join new groups, and also manage specific group conversations through notifications.
